Google Officially Announced Chromebook Pixel

Google designed Chromebooks to make your computing simple, speedy and secure. Recently launched Samsung Chromebook has been No.1 on Amazon’s bestseller list. Chromebook is ideal for catching up on emails, sharing documents and you can also chat via Hangouts. Chromebook represents more than 10% notebook sales in the largest electronics retailer in the U.K i.e. Currys PC World.

Now Google is very excited to launch their new Chromebook named the Chromebook Pixel. This Laptop was announced on 21st February 2013. This Chromebook pixel brings the best design, hardware, and software together which inspires the Next generation of Chromebooks.

Let’s have a look at the Features of Chromebook Pixel

Display :

Chromebook Pixel is packed with 12.85 inch multi-touch screen with a Screen resolution of 2560×1700 (239 PPI). This Multi-touch screen is covered with New Gorilla Glass which also packs 4.3 Million pixels and it also has 400 nit brightness with the aspect ratio of 3:2.

The Display offers vivid colors, sharp text, and also extra-wide viewing angles. This Chromebook has the highest pixel density of any other laptop screen in the present market. They also added touch for more immersive experience which makes it simple and a habit to do things like swipe through apps, Edit Photo and also organize tabs with the tip of your finger.

Hardware :

Chromebook Pixel is powered with dual-core 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, Integrated with Intel HD 4000 graphics and 4 GB RAM in it. This Chromebook is also powered with solid state flash memory architecture in which the performance of this Chromebook Pixel is remarkably fast.

This Chromebook carries two USB 2.0 ports, SD card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 3.0, dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and 720p webcam which is coupled with dual microphones. There is no built in HDMI port, you can also use a Mini display port to HDMI adapter.

Software :

Chromebook Pixel runs on the Google Chrome OS. Google Chrome OS was announced on July 7th 2009 and later it was called Chromium OS in November 2009. Google Chrome OS is based on Linux which is specially designed by Google and to work exclusive with Web Applications. This Chrome OS only ships in specific gadgets which are manufactured by Google’s Partners.

As it is based on Chrome OS, this Chromebook Pixel boots up in seconds and never slows down and it requires almost zero setup or maintenance. This Chromebook comes with built-in virus protection and it stays up to date with automatic updates.

Design :

Chromebook Pixel is designed with the highest quality components and it also meets the need of power users. The body of Chromebook is made with an anodized aluminum alloy which is durable surface and smooth.

The screws are invisible, touchpad is made from etched glass, and the stereo speakers are seamlessly tucked away beneath the backlit keyboard. This Chromebook has powerful and full-range speakers for crisp sound, a total of three microphones designed to cancel out surrounding noise and a 720p webcam for clear video.

Storage :

The Storage capacity of this Chromebook Pixel is 32 GB and the LTE version comes with 64 GB of Memory. This Chromebook is specially designed for the people who wanna live in the cloud environment. Google is providing 1 terabyte of Google Drive Storage for 3 years, starting on the date you redeem the offer. This enables you to access, save and share your photos, documents, videos, and all of your stuff from anywhere.

Price & Availability :

The Chromebook Pixel is available on Google Play Store in U.S and U.K and soon this Chromebook will be available on The Price of the Chromebook Pixel is $1,299 in U.S., £1,049 in U.K and the price of LTE version is $1,499. This Chromebook will start Shipping from the next week and the LTE version will ship in U.S. in April.
